Το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου (London Greek Film Festival) συμπληρώνει φέτος 11 χρόνια επιτυχίας και δημιουργίας και το γιορτάζει στην καρδιά της Βρετανικής Πρωτεύουσας, στο Θέατρο Τέχνης του Λονδίνου στο Camden Town (26 Crowndale Road, Λονδίνο, NW1 1TT).
Παρουσιάζει πλούσιο πρόγραμμα με διαγωνιστικό χαρακτήρα και μοναδικές παγκόσμιες πρεμιέρες και πρεμιέρες στη Μεγάλη Βρετανία, ευφάνταστες ταινίες από όλο τον κόσμο, εμπνευσμένους δημιουργούς και πιστούς θεατές, που περιμένουν με ανυπομονησία την έναρξη του Φεστιβάλ. Στο πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνονται ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους μυθοπλασίας, μικρού μήκους μυθοπλασίας, ντοκιμαντέρ, video art, πειραματικές ταινίες, animation & music videos. Υπάρχει επίσης και ειδικό διαγωνιστικό τμήμα σεναρίου.
Από φέτος, το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου, βάζει κάτω από την ομπρέλα του και το νέο Cosmocinema Festival, Διεθνές Film Festival του Λονδίνου, επεκτείνοντας το δίκτυο συνεργασιών και δραστηριοτήτων.
Το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου δίνει ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στη σύγχρονη φιλοσοφία του Ελληνικού κινηματογράφου και στη διεθνή δικτύωσή του. Οι δουλειές αυτές δίνουν το στίγμα του νέου ελληνικού σινεμά από όλο τον κόσμο, που ονειρεύεται, δημιουργεί, σχεδιάζει, τολμά και διεκδικεί, παρά τις δυσκολίες, και συνδυάζει την δημιουργικότητα που έρχεται από το παλιό καλό σινεμά, με τις δυνατότητες που δίνουν οι νέες τεχνολογίες.
Το Σάββατο 12 Μαΐου, το Θέατρο Τέχνης το Λονδίνου, θα φιλοξενήσει επίσης την τελετή των «Βραβείων Οδυσσέας» καθώς και των «Cosmocinema Awards», στη διάρκεια της οποίας οι καλύτερες ταινίες ανά κατηγορία θα βραβευτούν, όπως ψηφίστηκαν από την κριτική επιτροπή. Βραβεία θα δοθούν επίσης μεταξύ άλλων, σε ηθοποιούς, σεναριογράφους, σκηνοθέτες και ερμηνευτές.
Το Φεστιβάλ Ελληνικού Κινηματογράφου Λονδίνου προοδευτικό, εναλλακτικό και δημιουργικό όπως πάντα, παραμένει πιστό στο στόχο του, παρά τις αντιξοότητες: να λειτουργεί ως το διεθνές σημείο συνάντησης για το σύγχρονο ελληνικό κινηματογράφο από όλο τον κόσμο.

This 11th annual London Greek Film Festival 2018 will take place from 7 to 12 May. During this week it will present a lot of selected world premiere and UK Premiere films, at Camden’s Theatro Technis (26 Crowndale Road, London, NW1 1TT).
The 11th London Greek Film Festival (7-12 May 2018), independent, alternative, progressive and creative as ever, remains loyal to its objective, despite the adversities: to act as the international meeting point for contemporary Greek film from across the world.
The programme includes - in competition, amazing feature fiction films, short fiction films, documentaries, video art, experimental films, animation and music videos. There is also a special screenplay contest section. With particular emphasis on the modern philosophy of Greek authors, these films presenting the creativity of Greece via the contemporary Greek cinema from all over the world.
The Festival accepts films and scripts by Greek filmmakers from around the world, but also by non-Greeks whose work bears some Greek interest. It has established itself as one of the most prestigious events when it comes to showcasing contemporary Greek culture in the British metropolis and in Europe, projecting a positive and creative face of Greece.
At the same time it creates networking and collaboration opportunities and it promotes new technologies which combine good old cinematography with the new possibilities offered by the modern film world. The London Greek Film Festival, it is also the supporter & developer among with Cosmocinema, of the bright new International Cosmocinema Festival in London, and hosts some of its selected films of this year.
On Saturday 12 May, Theatro Technis will host the “Odysseus Awards” & “Cosmocinema Awards” ceremony, during which the best films by category, will be announced, as voted by the judging committee. Awards will also be presented to best actors, screenwriters, filmmakers and performers.
