Art Athina Από 14 έως και 16 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Ζάππειο

Στη φετινή έκθεση συμμετέχουν 36 γκαλερί από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Νέος χώρος διεξαγωγής της 24^ης Art Athina είναι το έντονα συνδεδεμένο με τον Πολιτισμό, τον Αθλητισμό και τη σύγχρονη ελληνική Ιστορία, Ζάππειο Μέγαρον. Πρόκειται για το πρώτο κτήριο που ανεγέρθηκε παγκοσμίως για την εξυπηρέτηση ολυμπιακών αναγκών και το οποίο αποτελεί κόσμημα του νεοκλασικού ρυθμού. Μία ενότητα, ωστόσο, της φετινής διοργάνωσης, το Video, θα βρει στέγη κάτω από τα άστρα του αθηναϊκού ουρανού, στον παλαιότερο εν λειτουργία θερινό κινηματογράφο της Αθήνας, στην Αίγλη Ζαππείου.

Για δεύτερη φορά στο κέντρο της πόλης – επιλογή που επικροτήθηκε από την πλειονότητα των επισκεπτών– η φουάρ επιστρέφει με το κύριο μέρος τους προγράμματος της. Τον Ιούνιο είχε προηγηθεί το Art Athina Summer Pop Up που φιλοξενήθηκε σε κτίριο της οδού Αιόλου και στο οποίο συμμετείχαν γκαλερί από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Επρόκειτο για μια έκθεση - προάγγελο της Art Athina 2019 που σχεδίασε η οργανωτική ομάδα της φουάρ, με επικεφαλής την καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια, Σταματία Δημητρακοπούλου και η οποία έδωσε την ευκαιρία στην Art Athina να είναι συνεπής στο καλοκαιρινό της ραντεβού με το φιλότεχνο κοινό, παρά τα εμπόδια που προέκυψαν σχετικά με την παραχώρηση του Ακροπόλ Παλλάς στον Πανελλήνιο Αιθουσών Τέχνης και την Art Athina 2019.

Το πρόγραμμα της 24ης Art Athina διαμορφώνεται ως εξής:

Main: Η κυρίως έκθεση στους βασικούς χώρους του Ζαππείου Μεγάρου, όπου γκαλερί από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό παρουσιάζουν τις προτάσεις τους. 

Video: Το φετινό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει βίντεο καλλιτεχνών επιλεγμένα από το Daata Editions, μια πλατφόρμα που αναθέτει βίντεο, ήχο, ποίηση και ιστοσελίδες σε μια νέα γενιά καλλιτεχνών που δουλεύουν με κινούμενη εικόνα και ήχο, το Ίδρυμα ΔΕΣΤΕ καθώς και ανεξάρτητους Έλληνες και ξένους καλλιτέχνες. Την επιμέλεια υπογράφει η καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια της Art Athina, Σταματία Δημητρακοπούλου και οι προβολές θα πραγματοποιηθούν το τελευταίο βράδυ της διοργάνωσης στον θερινό κινηματογράφο Αίγλη Ζαππείου.

Talks: Σημαντικές διεθνείς προσωπικότητες από τον κόσμο της τέχνης- διευθυντές μουσείων, επιμελητές φουάρ, ιστορικούς τέχνης - προσκαλεί η ανεξάρτητη επιμελήτρια Κατερίνα Νίκου που φέτος, για δεύτερη χρονιά, υπογράφει το πρόγραμμα συζητήσεων της ArtAthina με κεντρικό άξονα συζήτησης το ερώτημα “Το μέλλον είναι το Τώρα;”

Live:  Είναι το πρόγραμμα περφόρμανς από εικαστικούς καλλιτέχνες που εκπροσωπούνται από τις συμμετέχουσες γκαλερί της Art Athina 2019 και θα πραγματοποιηθεί καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της φουάρ σε χώρους εντός  του Ζαππείου Μεγάρου. Η φετινή έκδοση, την οποία επιμελείται η επίκουρη καθηγήτρια στο City University New York και συντονίστρια στο Raymond Pettibon Studio, Σωζήτα Γκουντούνα, φωτίζει την εξέλιξη της θεατρικότητας της περφόρμανς από την προέλευσή της στο θέατρο έως τη σημερινή της εφαρμογή σε άλλες μορφές τέχνης, και επικεντρώνεται στις πρακτικές συνεργασίας μεταξύ ιστορικών εικαστικών καλλιτεχνών που έχουν πειραματιστεί με την περφόρμανς και νεότερων καλλιτεχνών.

Educational Program: Το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα «Art Athina - We are the future» είναι σχεδιασμένο  από τον μη κερδοσκοπικό διεθνή κοινωνικό φορέα Σύγχρονης Τέχνης και Πολιτισμού, ΚROMA, για παιδιά ηλικίας άνω των έξι ετών, εφήβους και τους συνοδούς τους. Αναπτύσσεται μέσα από 10 και πλέον πολυσυλλεκτικά workshops που εστιάζουν στη ζωγραφική, την doodle art, τις κατασκευές, το κολάζ  το ψηφιδωτό, το παιχνίδι μυστηρίου και τη χαρακτική. Την υλοποίηση τους αναλαμβάνουν έμπειροι εικαστικοί, εκπαιδευτικοί, συγγραφείς, ερευνητές και πολιτιστικές ομάδες. Η συμμετοχή θα είναι δωρεάν.

Art Athina All Year Round

Η Art Athina δεν περιορίζεται μόνο στις ημέρες της έκθεσης, αλλά δραστηριοποιείται καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια του χρόνου με τις παρακάτω πρωτοβουλίες. 

Educational Program: Για δεύτερη χρονιά ο Πανελλήνιος Σύνδεσμος Αιθουσών Τέχνης και το Ίδρυμα Ιωάννου Φ. Κωστοπούλου υλοποίησαν το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα με θέμα τη διαδρομή του έργου τέχνης, στο πλαίσιο της Art Athina. Το πρόγραμμα, που βασίζεται σε ιδέα της καλλιτεχνικής διευθύντριας της Art Athina, Σταματίας Δημητρακοπούλου, πραγματοποιήθηκε με επιτυχία για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία της φουάρ πέρυσι και επαναλαμβάνεται φέτος με συντονίστρια την επιμελήτρια Κατερίνα Νίκου. Το πρόγραμμα απευθύνεται σε φοιτητές της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών, εικαστικούς και θεωρητικούς, και στόχο έχει  να τους πληροφορήσει, να τους εμπνεύσει και να τους προετοιμάσει για την εισαγωγή τους στον χώρο της τέχνης. Το πρόγραμμα αποτελείται από δύο ενότητες, επισκέψεις σε εργαστήρια εικαστικών και επισκέψεις σε χώρους τέχνης που συμμετέχουν στην Art Athina. Κατά την εικαστική περίοδο 2018-2019 πραγματοποιήθηκαν επτά διπλές συναντήσεις, σε στούντιο εικαστικών και, στη συνέχεια, στις γκαλερί που τους εκπροσωπούν στην Αθήνα.

Αrt Athina Workspace: H Art Athina συνεχίζει το πρόγραμμα residency συνολικής διάρκειας δύο μηνών, με τη στήριξη του Δήμου Αθηναίων και του Δικτύου Πολιτισμού Athens Culture Net. Μέσω του Art Athina Workspace δύο καλλιτέχνες από τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και τη Βρετανία προσκλήθηκαν για τέσσερις εβδομάδες να εγκατασταθούν στην Αθήνα, να εμπνευστούν από την πόλη και να δημιουργήσουν επί τόπου τα έργα τους, τα οποία παρουσιάστηκαν στο διεθνές πρόγραμμα του Art Athina Summer Pop Up. 

Art Athina Open Studios: Ένα Σάββατο κάθε μήνα, από τον Ιανουάριο έως και τον Μάιο του 2019 καλλιτέχνες που ζουν και εργάζονται στην Αθήνα και εκπροσωπούνται από γκαλερί που συμμετέχουν στην φουάρ ανοίγουν τα εργαστήρια τους, παρουσιάζουν τη δουλειά τους και αναπτύσσουν συζήτηση με συμμετέχοντες του προγράμματος Υoung Patrons του Μουσείου Κυκλαδικής Τέχνης. 

Η αθηναϊκή φουάρ διοργανώνεται από τον Πανελλήνιο Σύνδεσμο Αιθουσών Τέχνης, σε παραγωγή της εταιρείας BeBest. Η εκδήλωση έχει ενταχθεί στο Περιφερειακό Επιχειρησιακό Πρόγραμμα “Αττική” 2014-2020.

Αrt Athina 2019

Art Athina 2019 reconvenes for the 24th year in a brand new venue in the heart of Athens. The biggest annual cultural event of Greece, which has reached institutional prominence, will take place between Saturday 14th to Monday 16th of September 2019 at Zappeion Mansion. Art Athina 2019 is organised under the auspices of the H. E. The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mister Prokopios Pavlopoulos, who is set to inaugurate the fair on Friday, 13th September at 19:30.

Art Athina 2019 involves participations from 36 Greek and international galleries. Its new host, Zappeion Mansion, is strongly associated with Culture, Sports and recent Greek History. It constitutes the first building to be erected for the purposes of the modern Olympic Games, while it is also considered a milestone of Greek Neoclassical architecture. One specific section of this year’s fair, Video, will find a home under the Athenian night sky, within the oldest cinema of Athens, Aegli Zappeiou.

Located for a second year in the centre of Athens – a move that was widely applauded by its audience – the fair returns with the main section of its program. In June 2019, preceding this year’s autumnal edition, was Art Athina Summer Pop Up: an international exhibition in the heart of the city, hosted in the ample empty spaces of an office building on 48-50 Aiolou St., with participating galleries from Greece and abroad. Art Athina Summer Pop was organised by Art Athina under the artistic direction of Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, as an initiative signifying what it is to come in Art Athina 2019, and to stay true to the fair’s annual summer-time meet-up.

Art Athina 2019 Program involves the following:

Main: The main section of the art fair spreads in the main hall of Zappeion Mansion, where local and international galleries present their program.

Video:This year’s Video section includes video works selected from Daata Editions, a platform that commissions artist videos, sound, poetry and web to a new generation of artists who work with moving image and sound, DESTE Foundation as well as independent Greek and international artists. The program is curated by Art Athina Artistic Director, Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, and will take place at Aegli open-air cinema on Monday, September 16th at 9pm.

Talks: For the second year, independent curator Katerina Nikou, invites significant individuals from the international art community – museum directors, curators, art historians – to join Art Athina 2019’s Talks program. Central axis of this year’s program is the question “The Future is Now?” setting the way towards developing further a critical art discourse.

Live: This year’s Live program involves artists working in performance who are represented by galleries participating in Art Athina 2019. It will take place within the spaces of Zappeion Mansion throughout the duration of the fair. This year’s edition, curated by Sozita Goudouna, Professor, City University New York, and Head of Operations at Raymond Pettibon Studio, sheds light on the evolution of theatricality from its origin in the theatre to its present use in other art forms and focuses on collaborative practices between historic visual artists that have experimented with performance and emerging artists.

Educational Program:The educational program "Art Athina - We are the future" is organized by non-profit International Social Organization for Contemporary Art and Culture, KROMA, designed for children (6-years-old and above), tenagers and their parents/ carerers.

The expanded program consists of more than 10 workshops with Art in various forms. Painting, doodle art, constructions, collage, mosaic, mystery game, engraving, are just some of the activities that participants will engage in, developing their artistic skills and imagination. Workshops implementation is held by experienced artists, educators, writers, researchers and cultural groups. Participation is free of charge.

Art Athina All Year Round

Art Athina’s activities spread beyond the duration of the fair, within initiatives that run all-year-round.

Educational Program: The Hellenic Art Galleries Association and the J. F. Costopoulos Foundation, within the framework of Art Athina, carried out for the second time the educational programme on the course of the artwork. The programme, based on the idea of Art Athina's art director, Stamatia Dimitrakopoulos, was successfully organised for the first time in the history of the fair last year and was repeated this year under the direction of curator Katerina Nikou.

The programme is addressed to students of the Athens School of Fine Arts, visual artists and theoreticians, and aims to inform, inspire, and prepare their introduction to the art world. Students are invited to meet with the artwork, learning the process from production to exposure. The programme consists of two sections, visits to studios of artists and visits to galleries.

During the 2018-2019 artistic season, seven double meetings were held, in artists' studios, and then in the galleries representing them in Athens.

Αrt Athina Workspace: Art Athina continues for a second year the international two-month artist residency, with the support of the Municipality of Athens and Athens Culture Net. Through Art Athina Workspace two artists from the United States and Britain were invited to spend four weeks in Athens seeking inspiration in the city and creating the works that were presented at the international program of Art Athina Summer Pop Up.

Art Athina Open Studios: For one Saturday each month, from January to May 2019, Art Athina invites the Young Patrons of the Museum of Cycladic Art to studio visits with artists represented by the participating galleries of the fair. Art Athina Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to the Young Patrons to meet the artists in their working environment and familiarize with their practice.

The 24th edition of Art Athina is organised by the Hellenic Art Gallery Association and produced by Be Best production company. It is supported by the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the Regional Operational Programme "Attika" 2014-2020.
